Terms of use

Draft / placeholder. Have your lawyer review before publishing. Governing law and venue should match your company and customers (UK, or as advised).

These terms describe FairShare collaboration and AI features at a high level. Institution-specific contracts and DPAs govern precedence where signed.

1. Agreement

Who may use the service; age and institutional eligibility; acceptance of these terms and the privacy policy.

2. The service

FairShare provides teamwork workflows, contribution analytics, and optional AI features (including insights, coaching, moderation support, and institutional reporting). Features may be pilot-gated and controlled by institution-level policy flags.

3. Acceptable use

No unlawful content, harassment, cheating, or attempts to break security. Consequences including suspension.

4. Institutional customers

If schools subscribe under a separate agreement, state how these terms interact with the master services agreement.

5. Intellectual property

Your IP in the platform; user content ownership and licence to operate the service.

6. Disclaimers

Service is provided “as is” to the extent permitted by law. AI and analytics outputs are advisory signals, not conclusive academic misconduct findings, and should be reviewed by educators under institutional policy.

7. Limitation of liability

Caps and exclusions as permitted in your jurisdictions — lawyer-drafted.

8. Governing law

Specify England & Wales, or other as appropriate for your entity.
